Origins: from a single page to a Webflow website that attracts startups and brands

We took the Origins investment fund from a Squarespace landing page to a full Webflow website: architecture, wireframes, mockups, build, migration and training. The goal: to be credible to startups, brands and investors.

“We are extremely satisfied with our collaboration with Croissant on the creation of the origins.fund website. Their team perfectly identified our needs and translated our vision into an elegant, efficient and modern website. The final result not only lives up to our expectations, it even exceeds them! We recommend Croissant without hesitation to any company that wants a high-quality website.”

Context: a fund with a strong image, a single page to present it

Origins is a fund that invests in B2C startups from their first rounds. Co-founded by Blaise Matuidi, 2018 World Cup winner, it brings together athletes and tech experts.

In 2023, its website was a single, unengaging landing page on Squarespace. No portfolio, no team page, no room for campaigns or job offers.

The website in 20 seconds, from the mockups to mobile.

Goals: show the fund, its portfolio and its team

The new website had to:

  • Move from a landing page to a structured website, across several pages.
  • Showcase what sets the fund apart: its campaigns, portfolio, job offers and team.
  • Offer navigation worthy of its audience: startups, brands and investors used to the websites of major funds.

How we did it: from architecture to the Webflow website

1. An architecture for a multi-page website

We went from a single page to a full website: homepage, portfolio and a page for each startup, campaigns, team, jobs, resources and press. Calls to action are set page by page in the sitemap.

A single page becomes eight pages and one page per startup.

2. Paths validated in black and white

We laid out the pages as wireframes to validate the paths with the Origins team. The copy is theirs: they wrote and rewrote it.

The homepage in black and white: the fund, its audience, then its portfolio.

3. Mockups with the Origins identity

The mockups use the identity provided by Origins: dark background, turquoise accents, startup logos in the spotlight.

The vision, then the team: you know who invests before getting in touch.

4. Webflow, migration and training

We built the website on Webflow, with four CMS collections: campaigns, portfolio, news and jobs. We migrated the website from Squarespace, then trained the team and handed over a user guide so it can run the website on its own.

Results: more than 25,000 unique visitors in two years

Two years after launch, according to Salomon Aiach, co-founder of Origins:

  • More than 25,000 unique visitors.
  • Dozens of collaboration requests with brands.
  • Hundreds of qualified requests for investment.

Blaise Matuidi also thanked Nathan, Croissant’s founder, in a comment on one of his LinkedIn posts:

“Thank you Nathan for creating the Origins website for us!”

What’s next: Origins calls us back for its current website

Since then, Origins has evolved its online presence. The fund called us back to create its current website: a single, simpler page.
